Confab, a waste of tax payers 7billion

When I heard about this conference I was very happy at first, I know Nigerians we needed to sit at a round table to talk. But is it just talking that we would need? Hell no, we need implementation. For that fact the joy I thought I once had disappeared instantly. We hardly do anything right in Nigeria, everyone always trying to fight for his/her interest letting Nigeria's interest to suffer and believe Nigeria's interest is really suffering.
This conference has really exposed how deeply divided Nigeria is and the conference is dividing it further. Everyone came into the conference with a prepared agenda not even wanting to listen to a voice of reason from other sectors. The conference would have been a very nice idea if the right people were chosen, old people that succeeded in destroying our great nation, people that don't have up to 20years more to spend with us wanting to lay a chart for us. Selfish people that come to the conference to sleep and still echoing the past instead of trying to forge ahead.
Each participant is getting about 16million plus lunch to participate, this kind of a conference ought to be selfless, most people were only interested cause of the financial benefit that they know would come from it not that they had genuine interest for Nigeria. This people have been milking Nigeria and here they are discussing problems they caused with no real intention of settling it, they thrive on Nigeria's problem. The animosity is clearly showing, each region trying to better is without considering what would happen to the other regions, there is no one willing to sacrifice.
The confab is really a terrible idea because I was made to understand that the outcome of the conference would not be instantly implemented but instead its going to be handed over to the president like other committee reports. We have a list of committee reports that till today we have not seen the outcome, is it the presidential advisory committee, committee on the Jos crisis and so on cause if we start listing we won't leave here, so why would a conference that everyone is keying into follow same trend. A confab like this should be treated to something like a referendum or passed as law not being kept at the office of the secretary to the government as office document after wasting 7billion.
When this confab was being planned I was really concerned hoping real issues that bothered on Nigeria should be discussed instead we were reading from our dailies that the conference were discussing issues like the name Nigeria should be changed, I felt so ashamed of this great nation if that's what they were gathered for, they were discussing issues that would add nothing to Nigeria's woes, they left better issues like the derivation formula, federalism and were discussing about jamboree.
A confab that would involve such amount and time to execute should not be restricted, before the conference started the participants were told that nothing should be discussed about Nigeria's existence, why won't it be discussed? Is it all the regions that still want to stay together as a country? I thought the aim of the confab was for everybody to air their views. We all know that the recommendations of the conference is paper talk so why not just let us talk all the talk that there is to talk.
Before the conference started religion was already being played that the total constitution of the conference was skewed towards the Christians and the Christians were like the constitution mentioned Islam 49 times, is that what we should be discussing as a country.
I was thinking issues on corruption and how to curb it would have been the main agenda cause that has been Nigeria's main issue but instead we were so concerned about Nigeria as a name being changed.
Now the conference is almost over and they have recommended that states be created like as always been said but no implementation and this conference is following same trend cause there was no after plan, just talking is not the problem cause we Nigerians know how to talk, have you been to a beer parlor or on a bus or news stand, so talking is not our problem, implementation is what we need.
They would all leave the conference with fat millions and nothing achieved, that's Nigeria for you.
When are we going to ever do it right
