WISHFUL THINKING: WILL NIGERIA EXIST AFTER 2015 ELECTIONS
Nigeria is a blessed nation without doubts and with very optimistic people who feel optimism without hard work would take them anywhere.
Nigerians would be the once to make us stay beyond 2015 or break on or before the 2015.I know most optimistic Nigerians would say who is this villain amongst us, optimism without effort is like faith without work and we all know the outcome "DEATH"
They say if a fish wants to get rotten it starts from the head same way you can't get to the top of the tree without starting from the root. This simply means Nigeria's existence so depend on the government and the citizen, we would make it work or mar it. Many things led me into adducing this fact. Nigeria already has an army that is scared of confronting enemy force within its own territory, how scary. Don't mind what the report says, boko haram is hitting a very deadly blow on both the military and the civilian. Israel is presently fighting with Hamas in Gaza, Hamas an organization with resource and rocket launchers have had difficulty killing Israeli soldiers, I'm talking about an organisation that dug modern tunnels stretching into Israel, an organisation that has just released a video of its drone operation, yet they are finding it difficult while the Nigerian soldiers are being killed daily or maimed. Now the soldiers are even more scared than the civilians they are meant to protect. Is this the army we are banking on to hold the glue together come 2015? No disrespect to the army, much kudos to the, but the honest truth as admitted by the chief of defense staff Brimah, he said and I quote "that the present crop of soldiers didn't join the army cause of passion or dedication, they joined as a means of livelihood" Tell me how you expect such a soldier to fight and not retreat, you an employee of shell or chevron joined them to make money, does that mean you would stick your life out for the company? Just imagine its same mentality our military is operating in. I seriously weep
Corruption has had so much toll that it has become difficult to curb the insurgency, over 13billion dollars have been spent on the military for the last three to four years since this insurgency, what difference would the 1billion dollars loan request add? Just saying.
Another major reason why I see this country having difficulty still being in existence come 2015 is the way the Christian association of Nigeria and the supreme council of islamic affairs is piloting this country. They are creating so big a divide I doubt even time can heal. Any issue on national importance they want to play politics with it, to constitute a panel or an organisation, religion would be the key instead of honesty, statesmanship. Nigeria has lost all this characteristics to religion, how painful. Check round the world and you would see if there is even any country with such religious divide that still stood as one.
If this country is needed to still be one then this two major religious head have to be called to order cause they both have followers, the comments they say even if not giving as a directive is doing lots of damage, they ought to know that.
Further more our so called elder statesmen are working tirelessly to divide this country. kudos to their elbows, they make stupid comments for someone of their nature, this people over time have amassed fanatics and followers and instead of using this attained position to promote peace they are calling for blood shed and I wonder after they divide the country which state would they now be the elder statesmen they claim to be. Imagine a retired naval officer, a governor accusing the presidency of genocide without proof, just saying it to score political point, do you know what that would cause. The people of the region would start inducing rubbish and anarchy could come, but this so called elder statesman don't see anything wrong in it. From Clark to Ango Abdulahi to Buhari to Atiku to Tinubu to Asari, this men are so unfit to be elder statesman, they lack the leadership quality required of them. You don't make utterances cause you just feel like talking if you have attained such a position, you are careful not to instigate people. Now tension is so brewing that irrespective of if Jonathan wins or lose there would sure be trouble, he loses the south erupts and he wins the north boils. Is this the Nigeria that wants to stay beyond 2015?
Regional differences has become clearer with this waste going on now called confab, every region wants to be selfish and never willing to negotiate. We are all Nigerians its ought to be a win-win situation. But ours is different like some parts are more Nigerian than others. Even if we are able to fight religion breakup, region would raise its head. The earlier our so called leaders braise up and make Nigeria, the better for us all cause if this trend continues then it would "there was a country called Nigeria"
Politics of bitterness and divide should stop, politics of religion should stop, when you oppose bring out a better plan, not just criticize and castigate to instigate the masses against the government, let's employ constructive criticism.
