BUHARI: Who wants his blood
July 23rd will always be a memorable day in the life of Gen. Buhari. He escaped death by the whiskers. We all grateful he survived but that brings us to the very important question, who wants him dead?This question as simple as it is has more than possible ten answers.
Let's start analyzing each possible motive, could it be the presidency. Many Buhari disciples already have a theory, that the general critisized the president and two days time he was a victim of an assassination attempt, that the president must have been infuriated by is outspoken criticism and he had to silence him, I then said to myself if Buhari has been the only one to have spoken against the president? Why were they not targeted or they were not people of substance?
Obasanjo in is open letter to the president said snipers were being trained to take out a thousand opponents of the president's ambition and that buhari was first on the list. I really wonder if there is any such list and this makes the first reason not worthy of mention, cause we all know such a job would be done with precision.
The second point of thought most people think is the PDP, buhari's disciples would want us to believe the PDP would want to eliminate the only person that would really stand a chance against their candidate, so the person should be eliminated? Like I said this are theories we would only be able to resolve if the security agencies get to the bottom of it.
Another school of thought is that the killer is within is folks the APC. When the APC merged or was formed many bigwigs from other parties came in, some came with presidential ambition also and won't want to contest against a Buhari cause they know they won't stand a chance, so could they have been responsible for the attack? From the way it stands now within the PDP, its just Goodluck that we know, unlike the APC with the likes of Kwankwonso, Atiku just to mention a few and these aint just easy men that would want to let their ambitions sink. So could the plot has been from within the APC? Like olamide said, its a story for the gods.
Another school of thought wants us to believe that it might have been sponsored by the anti-Nigerian people, that so desperately wants this country to tear apart. Every lover of history knows what a death of a prominent political, religious figure could do. Ask the Germans, French, British and they would tell you what the assassination of Arch duke Franz Ferdinand resulted to, the first world war was born with is death. So those responsible did it to make Nigeria part ways? For we all know there would have been serious repercussions in the north and reprisals would follow in the south. A group of misguided youths in the north called for all northerners to return to the north and southerners back, could this people be involved? The killers could have been southerners or northerners?
Furthermore could the killers have been members of the boko haram sect currently holding the country hostage? Could they be attacking cause buhari criticize them or they are keeping to their word of eliminating him and other top figures? Judging by the fact of the other target of the day, the islamic scholar could have been killed also cause he had been an advent critic of them.
Another school of thought is saying it was stage managed by buhari himself to clear himself in the eyes of Nigerians that he is not a supporter or sympathizer of the sect. Done in other to give a boost to the APC chances and changing the notion that they are members of the sect.
The Nigeria security forces owe us a great deal of explanation, cause they keep apprehending top members of the sect, linking them to known figure heads and also conducting this trials in secret, we really want to know.
I guess the readers are as confused as I am right now trying to know who really wants buhari dead.
