Gay teen kicked out of family home raises over $20,000 for LGBT homeless charity
Remember the story about the gay teen who recorded the violent confrontation with his family after he came out?
Well, this brave 19-year-old has now raised over $20,000 ($12,250) for a local homeless charity . Daniel Pierce from Atlanta posted the video online which went viral.
After his partner set up a donation page to cover his basic living costs, thousands showed their support to raise over $90,000 within three days.
After such overwhelming global support for his situation, Pierce urged people to donate to a local homeless charity, Lost ‘n’ Found, devoted to helping young LGBT people suffering from similar ordeals.
Speaking to WXIA-TV, Pierce discussed the video: ‘They see all the positive videos and the negative video never gets seen so if one family maybe watches it and maybe changes their mind in how they are going to handle it about their son or daughter coming out, one family and I will be happy.’
