OBAGOAL: Obafemi Martins scores 13th MLS goal

Nigeria striker Obafemi martins scored his 13th goal in his 23rd Major League Soccer game on Friday night as Seattle Sounders recorded an impressive 3-2 win against visiting Real Salt Lake at the CenturyLink Field. Martins's 43rd minute strike made it five goals and three assists in his last five games as the the Rave Green boosted their chase for the Supporters' Shield race. 
Javier Damin Morales shot the visitors in front with his 30th minute opener before Lamar Neagle levelled eight minutes later.

A 43rd minute goal from the 29-year-old former Newcastle forward secured the Seattle Sounders a first half come-back lead. 

Joao Plata fired Salt Lake back into contention to make it 2-2 and held on despite being reduced to ten men following Nat Borchers' straight red card in the 69th minute.

A late winner came through Andy Rose for the hosts to grab victory deep into stoppage time to end the royal rumble encouter in a five-goal thriller.

With the victory, Sounders have opened a four points gap atop the Western Conference with 54 points from 27 games.
