Nigerians be wise..... Elections are here again

     

Elections are here again. You get to hear a lot of promises and propaganda, you can imagine a politician who could not keep to his promises in his first tenure do you think he will do the same now. I dont support the idea of two terms in government or a particular party ruling for so long. This prevents dynamism and kills the progress of our country.

 The United States is a clear example of how countries are to be ruled. You get to see The Republican and The Democrats exchange the leadership mantle. Each party has its own philosophy and method of operation. Some families have been Republicans dating from the beginning of democracy in their country. You don't get to see people jump from one party to the other because they feel cheated.               Everyone remembers the tussle between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama, you could see how intellects handle debates and accept defeat. She lost to Obama and went on to become his Secretary of State, if she was a Nigerian you wont be surprised if she decamps and go to the opposition party.
 Our Politicians scheme a lot for their personal gains. They make it so glaring and foolishly think we don't see their deceit. You can imagine how a politician who didn't tar the road to his residence will come back before elections and start sharing money. They have so much access to the nation's wealth that is why it is been squandered. They crave for democracy and don't be offended when I say black men abuse power a lot.
    We are living under a democratic rule yet they act like dictators. I have never been surprised by any of them because we live in a country where black can be called white. We are enslaved in our nation where politicians never complain of not been paid yet the civil servants wait for months without payment. Have you ever heard that a protest was done by them that their salaries have not been paid. You will never experience such because they decide how the payment is to be done.
     As election approaches you see politicians who have been in Abuja for over 3 years are suddenly pouring in their constituencies, now they have surprise packages like workshops, empowerment schemes yet the petty ones still distribute food items. They have devised poverty as a tool to control the electorates, they bend them to their knees for a token which is not enough to prepare their favorite meal. Money comes in to circulation has they suddenly flood the country with they monies meant for projects to seek their reelection.
  One thing that is constant is change, no matter how hard they will try to sit on our progress a time will come all these scavengers and parasites will be dead and gone. Our country will move to greater heights and a generation free of tribalism and religious fanatics will be in charge of the affairs. A time will come when the masses will say enough is enough and the technocrats will be forced to come lead this country of ours. If you have the interest of the people at heart you should know that no matter how much you embezzle none will you take to the after life and your children you are saving to loot for will eventually misuse it. We should not steal what is ours when we know we can make better use of it. Lift us out of poverty and educated the masses. Give us the basic amenities we deserve then watch the growth of this country accelerate. God bless Nigeria...
