Shettima shares money to communities in desperate move to win over Borno people

The Borno State Government has started sharing of N30,000 to 300 people in each of the 15 wards of Maiduguri metropolis.
This followed last week’s home-coming of the former governor of the state, Senator Ali Modu Sherif, who stormed the city amidst grand reception at the Maiduguri International Airport.
Shettima’s desperation became evident on Thursday, as he directed that 300 people from each of the wards be given the said amount in order to dust down the clamour for his removal from office in 2015.

 

It could be recalled that unprecedented crowd accompanied Sheriff from the Maiduguri International Airport to his G.R.A home, a fresh indication that the former governor is indeed the political strongman and godfather of Borno politics.
DailyPost also observed that his coming to Maiduguri has changed the politics of the state, with the people, in one voice, calling on him (Sheriff) to ensure he changed the state Governor, Kashim Shettima with someone better.
According to the mammoth crowd, the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has destroyed the economy of the state, abused civil service rules and put Borno in the most disadvantage, as well as increased wanton destruction of lives and properties of the people.
It was also observed that, thousands of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) members, who were also at the airport to receive the former Governor Ali Modu Snherriff, whose private jet 5NBH landed at 1:35 pm, joined thousands of APC supporters from Borno to welcome the man they described as the leader of Borno politics.

 

Sheriff, who came in company of three APC members of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdurrahaman Terab representing Bama, Ngala-Kalabalge federal constituency, Hon. Isa Lawan Kangar, representing Guzamala, Kukawa Federal constituency and Hon. Peter Biye Gumtha, representing Damboa, Gwoza and Chibok Federal constituency, with some party supporters, drove from the Airport to his residence in GRA, with the fighting to touch his vehicle.
When journalists enquired about his mission to Maiduguri, he simply said “this is not the right time to speak to press, we would talk later”.
