Why is Benin City so dark at nights..

It saddens me to drive around my place of birth to see how dark it is at night. This should become a major concern for the government and security agencies.
As you drive pass Ogbe quarters, Akenzua, Goodwill, Ekehuan road and to other popular areas you will begin to imagine if you are in a wilderness. Majority of these areas mention where once places where booming with nightlife and businesses were thriving, you can't drive around the areas of Benin presently with the hope of getting cold water or beverage everyone is running his or business on generators.
This is something that has been orchestrated carefully by the Disco responsible, they came first by rationing 6 hours off the 24 hours they normally supply then to 15 hours. Then They started 3 hours on and off. As Nigerians we are quick to adapt to any situation. Not knowing what will befall on us till we started experiencing months without supply. Benin City used to be where companies and factories came to set up due to the reason we had the best power supply. The cost of running a Clothing factory has sky rocketed and you can imagine how hard it will be for people that are consuming more power.
Instead of the Disco to put generator sellers and filling stations out of business, one can't stop to think if there is a grand plan to put the central ares of Benin City. The more the number of Petrol stations springing up daily the more the power supply drops. A video was in circulation of how a Disco headquarters bought a generator. This is more like a case of a man with eyesight asking the blind for direction. This may sound funny but it is provoking, a power bank of another Disco was on the internet. This makes me wonder why the estimated billing system hasn't been criminalized.
Far back 2014, when the rationing of the power to my area was changed to the type you need their mercy before you can be supplied. Mails where sent and no replies this the Nigerian Electric Regulatory Commission had to write to them. We the residents of Benin City are frustrated to the extent that it baffles one to believe this Discos believe they can't be sued for their lapses. How can you take up a responsibility you have no idea of, you will only fool yourself for some time till you are exposed for the fraud you are. This is the case of the Discos we are faced with.
This is now a contrast to the development which the well oriented and intelligent Governor Godwin Obaseki has started in the state. We appeal to the able Governor to help restore back our city to the hub of business activities.
